Australia's First UAV Shark Patrols Operated By Trained Lifeguards

Gavin operated the Pulse Aerospace Vapor 55 in the world first demonstration flight for the NSW State Government to witness the effective use of UAV's to patrol the coastline during the summer periods.

The success of the first flight has enabled the roll-out of over 40 small multi-rotor aircraft to lifeguards along the NSW beaches. The aircraft and training of lifeguard pilots is part of Aero Motion Australia's operations as we support this historic enterprise.

Gavin is proud to be part of the team who currently consult and train Surf Lifesaving pilots to operate UAVs in a compliant and safe manner according to the Aviation Laws and regulations. UAVs have since been used in real-life rescues and shark patrols, actively saving lives of beachgoers and protecting Lifeguards from hazardous conditions.
